I have always believed that kindness is like a boomerang, it always returns. In other words, if you have done something nice, you will get something nice in return. Don't get me wrong, it doesn't mean that all the nice things i do is only for the sake of getting nice things in return. No. I feel the happiness when i manage to help someone, even if he or she is a total stranger to me. Yesterday, when i was boarding the plane, a young lady carrying an adorable baby asked me whether i could change place with her husband so that three of them would be able to sit together in a row. I was sitting next to the window and the husband was sitting somewhere behind me but his seat is a "B", which is in the middle and not nest to the window. I wanted to remain in my seat so badly, but before i could think twice, i blurted, "Yes, of course!". And when i got to my new seat, i felt a tinge of regret because i would most probably got stuck between to unknown strangers. Whenever there were passengers boarding, i prayed hard that they are not sitting next to me. Surprisingly, it turned out that both seats next to me were empty and a managed to sit next to the window!! I immediately thought of what would happen if i decline the young lady's offer. I'd probably feel uncomfortable as there was someone sitting next to me. Right now, i was having the whole row for myself and i'm truly glad i've done a good deed.
Today, when i was walking to the shuttle bus, someone behind me said, "Excuse me.". When i looked back, i saw a man in his late 30s jogging towards me. He asked for the time and i told him. Although this may be a no biggie, but for me, being able to lend a hand to someone early in the morning had just made my day better. And i was really glad i was able to help.
So, the lesson for today is: Kindness is the language which the deaf can hear and the blind can see. So, be KIND!! :)
